How Many JNV Schools Are There in India?
As of now, there are 661 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) across India. These schools are spread across various states and union territories, providing quality education to talented students from rural areas.
How to Apply to a JNV School
Applying to a JNV school involves a few steps:
- Eligibility: Students must be studying in Class V and belong to the age group of 9 to 13 years.
- JNVST (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test): Students need to appear for the JNVST, which is a written test conducted annually. The test assesses the aptitude of the students in subjects like Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and Social Studies.
- Application Form: Application forms are usually available online on the official NVS website. Fill out the form with the required details and submit it before the deadline.
- Admission: Based on the test results, students are selected for admission. The selection is done purely on merit, without considering the socio-economic background of the students.
