These prestigious institutions are designed to prepare students for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other military academies. Currently, there are 33 Sainik Schools spread across various states and Union Territories in India.
How to Apply for Sainik School Admission
- Eligibility: Students aged 10-12 years (for Class 6) and 13-15 years (for Class 9) as of March 31, 2025.
- Application Process: The admission process involves an entrance exam called the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
- Steps to Apply:
- Online Registration: Visit the official NTA website (https://exams.nta.ac.in/AISSEE/) and register for the AISSEE.
- Upload Documents: Prepare and upload necessary documents such as passport-sized photographs, signatures, proof of age, and other required documents.
- Application Fee: Pay the application fee (General/OBC: ₹650, SC/ST: ₹500).
- Submit the Form: Complete the application form and submit it online.
- Exam Dates: The AISSEE 2025 is expected to be held in the last week of January 2025.
- Selection Process: Successful candidates will be called for a medical examination and an interview.
